Frequently Asked Questions |
Q. What is the price per lesson?
A. Our price is $180 per 2 hours of instruction (1 lesson). This price may be higher than some
other driving schools, but many students have found that our thorough, individualized teaching
approach saves time and money in the long run.
|
Q. How many lessons will I need?
A. Naturally the length of time it will take each person to learn to drive depends on many variables:
past experiences, fear level, age, and previous training (if any). Once we drive with you and make
an initial skill assessment, we are able to give you a more reliable estimate of the time it will take
you to learn to drive.
|
Q. How do I pay?
A. You can pay your instructor, cash, check, or credit card at each lesson. We accept Visa and
Mastercard.
|
Q. Do I need a permit?
A. A permit is required before you get your driving license and in order to practice driving. You take
a written test at the DMV office and pay a small fee to get your permit. (The fee will also be applied
to your license.) For more information please visit the DMV website.
|
Q. Will I learn the skills I need to pass the DMV drive test?
A. Yes! But more importantly, while you're mastering the drive test skills, you'll also be preparing for
a lifetime of safe and confident defensive driving.
|
Q. What is a lesson like?
A. Ann's behind-the-wheel driving lessons are intense individualized coaching sessions. You'll be
engaged with your personal instructor throughout the session. At times you will be asked to make
a running commentary, a verbal description of driving conditions and the factors affecting your
decisions.
|
Q. Will I start driving right away?
A. You'll start driving right after a quick orientation and assessment. Your ability to take control will
depend on your readiness and previous driving experience (if any). Throughout the lesson, your
instructor is there as a safety net so you'll be safe as you make the mistakes that are part of the
early learning process.
|
Q. Where will I take my lessons?
A. Your instructor will pick you up and drop you off at your home or other previously arranged
location.
|
Q. What are your cars like?
A. Your instructor will pick you up in a normal -looking car - no embarassing signs or stickers!
The only difference will be a dual set of controls (brake and accelerator) on the right-hand-side so
that your instructor can take control of the car if necessary.
|
Q. What will the lesson cover?
A. Your lessons will cover the basics of driving in all kinds of real life situations such as: freeways,
city traffic, residential neighborhoods, hills, intersections and one-way streets.
|
Q. Do I need proof of insurance? A. While you're driving our vehicle, you'll be covered by our insurance. If you take the drive test in our
car, we'll provide you with the necessary insurance and registration documents.
